The dance started with Jessica and Mike dancing along to “My Girl” by The Temptations. It seems fitting, doesn’t it? We all know the term Papa’s Girl and how fathers can be very protective of their daughters, no matter what their age becomes as they look out for them and care for them.
There’s something about every father-daughter relationship that reminds us how no other bond is purer or stronger. Little girls are their fathers’ princesses and the fathers are the everyday heroes who are there no matter how rough things get.
Mike Hanley and his wife Beth were blessed with three stunning daughters, and that’s three times the happiness of experiencing the love only girls can give to their daddies.
But just when the guests thought they’d be watching Jessica and Mike slow dance to this song, and some of them were already singing along to the song, this happened. Whitney Houston’s “Do You Wanna Dance?” began to play and Jessica acts out the song, “Say you wanna dance? Don’t you wanna dance?” The guests started to laugh while Mike pretends to not know anything about the dance changes.
The father and daughter dancing tandem began to dance together to entertain their guests. Jessica choreographed a five-minute dance sequence using a mashup of different songs, including Lou Bega’s “Mambo No. 5”, LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem”, Jackson Five’s “I Want You Back”, Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face”, “Greased Lightning” from the movie, Grease, and even Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”. 50 Cents “In Da Club” played before ending the dance back to the first song, “My Girl”.
He performed a father-daughter dance again during his second daughter, Isabelle’s, bat mitzvah two years later, but this time, they rapped their way through the “dance.”
